
Blazers Sign Lucas Benn to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have announced today that the hockey club has signed 2008-born forward Lucas Benn to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Benn was selected by the Blazers in the seventh round of the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft in May.
Benn is from Cloverdale, BC and was the second forward selected by the Blazers in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. The 6'4" and 172lb forward had 12 goals, 24 assists and 34 points in 27 games with the St. George's U15 Prep team during the 2022-23 season.
Benn was also recently named to B.C.'s Male U16 team for the WHL Cup along with Blazers prospect forward Ty Bonkowski.
"We would like to welcome Lucas and his family to the Kamloops Blazers organization," said General Manager / Head Coach, Shaun Clouston. "Lucas impressed us at training camp and we are excited to be a part of his development over the coming seasons."
Benn is the fourth player signed in the 2008-born age group. He joins defensemen Dryden Deobald and Kaden Meyer along with forward Ty Bonkowski among signed selections from the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
Benn will make his WHL Preseason debut this weekend on Saturday, September 16th in Maple Ridge against the Vancouver Giants.
