
Hitmen and Siksika Health Services Host Second Annual Powwow

Calgary (Mohkinstsis), AB - Siksika Health Services and the Calgary Hitmen will come together in partnership once again on Saturday, September 16th to host the Every Child Matters Traditional Powwow at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The second annual event is in recognition of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. The day of dancing will include several specials and a Residential School Heros Honor Dance. The theme this year is focused on: "Honouring and Recognizing Our Peoples' Resilience and Triumphs".
The event will bring together many special guests including members of Siksika Health Services (SHS) and Calgary Hitmen players and staff. Members of SHS include Dr. Tyler White, CEO, SHS, Pauline Yellow Fly, SHS Community Wellness Team Lead, and Dr. Vicki Yellow Old Woman, SHS Finance Team Lead and Committee Chair.
Join us as we honour and commemorate the beloved Elders and loved ones who attended residential schools and celebrate the resilience of the people and culture that remains strong. This event is not possible without Siksika Health Services amazing partners and sponsors. The event will begin with the Grand Entry at 2:00 p.m. and will run until 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Doors open at 1:00 p.m.
