
Winterhawks Call up G Justen Maric

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club today announced that it has recalled goaltender Justen Maric from the Battlefords North Stars (SJHL) to the team's active roster.
Maric, 19, appeared in one game for the Winterhawks this season before being reassigned to Battlefords in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The Edmonton, Alta. native won the SJHL Championship with Battlefords in 2022-23, and boasts a 10-2-1 record with a .926 save percentage and 2.43 GAA through 13 games with the North Stars in 2023-24. Originally selected by Red Deer in the fifth round, #98 overall, of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft, Maric was acquired by the Winterhawks via trade with Moose Jaw in July.
