Winterhawks Announce Second-Half Promotions and Theme Nights

Portland, Ore. - As the Hawks roll into the holiday break after a solid start to the season, it's time to prepare for upcoming promotions and theme nights in the back half of the year!

Fans can enjoy our family-friendly entertainment all season long and attend the biggest promotional nights of the season.

Date Puck Drop Theme Night / Promotion

December 31 5:00 p.m. Toyota New Year's Eve and Hockey Family of the Year

January 15 6:00 p.m. 90's Night

January 28 7:00 p.m. Pride Night

February 19 6:00 p.m. Black Hockey History Night

March 5 6:00 p.m. Women's Hockey Night

March 12 6:00 p.m. Mascot Night

April 2 6:00 p.m. Jersey Off Their Backs Night .

When the team returns on December 28th, the Hawks will debut their white jerseys at home and will continue wearing white at the VMC for the majority of home games to wrap up the regular season. (In case you missed the news, a limited supply of our white jerseys are available online at ShopWinterhawks.com. They will also be available for purchasing the next time you visit the VMC.)

Rockin' New Year's Eve Party

The Portland Winterhawks are excited to ring in the New Year with the best fans in the Western Hockey League. An earlier puck drop (5:00 p.m.) allows all fans to enjoy a fantastic night at the rink and still make it home in time to watch the clock strike midnight or enjoy an extended night out with friends and family.

If you need plans, be sure to stick around after the game for music, a postgame skate, and balloon drop. Some of the balloons will even have cash prizes!

Also, the New Year's Eve game will be the second televised game this season on Portland's CW. Set your DVR's and cheer on the Hawks while you enjoy the nine more TV broadcasts this year.

Battle With Seattle on Portland's CW

As we just mentioned, the Winterhawks renew their 'Battle With Seattle' on the Portland's CW starting New Year's Eve. Fans can enjoy nine televised games during the second half of the season, including eight match-ups against the Seattle Thunderbirds and one road tilt against the Spokane Chiefs.

We'd love to see you live at the games for an exciting second half as the Winterhawks prepare for their 11th straight trip to the WHL playoffs, but we're happy to provide additional coverage on your local TV station.

Hockey Is For Everyone Campaign

The Portland Winterhawks are launching a Hockey Is For Everyone campaign, featuring special nights like Pride Night, Black Hockey History Night and Women's Hockey Night.

We support any teammate, coach or fan who brings heart, energy and passion to the rink and we want to continue to build that environment at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. We believe hockey should provide a safe, positive and inclusive environment for players and families regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, disability, sexual orientation and socio-economic status.

Join us in January, February and March as we celebrate some special nights and we want to make sure everyone feels included in the Winterhawks family.

Additional Fan Favorites

Of course, we had to return the popular Mascot Night and Jersey Off Their Backs promotion. Circle your calendar now and keep an eye out for more information regarding these two spring nights.

The Winterhawks plan to debut their special 'Jersey Off Their Backs' jersey during a future home game in March. Fans will have a chance to win these one-of-a-kind jerseys on April 2nd, the team's final regular season game. Information about raffle tickets will become available in the coming weeks.
