WINSTON HOMERS PAST WILMINGTON The Dash clubbed three home runs en route to a 9-5 victory over Wilmington in front of 5,779 fans at BB&T Ballpark. Chris Curley and Courtney Hawkins each connected on two-run blasts during Winston-Salem's four-run first. Kevan Smith, who finished with three hits and three runs scored, clubbed a solo shot in the third. Starter Jake Cose collected his first High-A win and quality start (6.0 IP, 3 R, 4 H, 5 K). On Sunday, Winston-Salem can add to its league-leading sweep total, which sits at five. Since 2012, the Dash lead the CL with 14 sweeps.

ANOTHER HIGH FIVE AT HOME Dating back to May 31, the Dash have won five consecutive home games, which matches their longest home winning streak of the campaign. Winston-Salem also claimed five straight home victories from April 13-20, a run that included three triumphs over Wilmington. Since BB&T Ballpark opened in 2010, the Dash have strung together five straight home wins 12 times. Winston's longest winning streak in this facility was a nine-game run from August 2-25, 2012.

MORE ON HOME DOMINANCE During this five-game home winning streak, Winston-Salem has outscored its opposition 40-16 and hit seven home runs. The Dash are hitting .267 and averaging 5.8 runs per game at BB&T Ballpark in 2013. Winston is second to Potomac (22) in the Carolina League in home wins with 19. The Dash own full-season Minor League Baseball's best record since BB&T Ballpark opened in 2010 (153-90, .630).

ROCKING THE BLUE CREW After going 15-5 against Wilmington in 2012, Winston-Salem has won eight of its first nine meetings with the Blue Crew this year because of great pitching. The Blue Rocks are hitting only .199 with 17 total runs against a Dash staff that owns a 1.96 ERA against Wilmington. The Dash have held the Rocks to two runs or less in six of their nine meetings.

ALL SQUARE For the third straight day, Winston-Salem is tied with Myrtle Beach in the Southern Division standings. The Pelicans rallied from a three-run deficit to take down Carolina 8-4 in 10 innings Saturday. Prior to Thursday, the Dash had not owned a piece of the division's top spot since April 23 when they were 10-8. Both the Dash and Pelicans have only two teams remaining on their first-half slates. Winston plays Wilmington (8-1) six times and Lynchburg (2-6) three times, while Myrtle has six games remaining against Carolina (7-1) and three versus Frederick (5-3).

TURNING THINGS AROUND Winston-Salem infielder Joey DeMichele has hit safely in eight straight games and 14 of his last 16 contests dating back to May 26, when his average sat at .189. During these 15 games, the former Arizona State product is hitting .373 (25-for-67) with nine RBIs and 16 runs scored. This spurt has raised his average 50 points to .239.

HAWKINS HEALING Dash outfielder Courtney Hawkins, the top prospect in the White Sox system, has hit safely in seven of his eight games since returning from the disabled list (left shoulder). Hawkins boasts a .308 average (11-for-30) with four homers and 12 RBIs. Hawkins is one of 65 minor leaguers with 11 or more homers, yet he has played the fewest games (31) and received the fewest at-bats (109) among the members of that group.

DASH DOTS Starter Bryan Blough makes his second start against Wilmington this season after taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning in Delaware on April 27 (W: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R)...Wilmington hurler Kyle Smith owns a 1.92 ERA, which leads the CL and is 11th in the minors...Outfielder Mark Haddow (left hand) was placed on the disabled list Saturday afternoon...Former Texas farmhand Josh Richmond, who played for Myrtle Beach in 2012 has been promoted to Winston-Salem from Kannapolis (.375, 1HR, 11 RBIs, 11 games).
