Winnipeg Blue Bombers Add Two to Roster

WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed international defensive back Sam Brown and International linebacker Will Smith.

Brown (6-1, 180, Missouri Western State, September 30, 1992 in St. Louis, MO) played four seasons at Missouri Western State. In that span, he totalled over 120 tackles. In 2015 he earned Second-Team All MIAA honours after a season that saw him break up a career high 16 passes and come down with three interceptions. After going undrafted, Brown spent part of last season with the Baltimore Ravens.

Smith (6-3, 228, Texas Tech, January 13, 1992 in Riverside, CA) earned a First-Team All Big 12 nod after he racked up a team leading 120 tackles as a senior. In two years with the Red Raiders he totalled 175 tackles and 4.5 sacks. In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cowboys selected Smith in the seventh round. He has previously spent parts of seasons in both Winnipeg and Hamilton.
