February 27, 2008 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release

The Philadelphia Wings' Rob Van Beek was named the NLL's Transition Player of the Week for his performance in his team's 17- 8 victory over the Minnesota Swarm last Friday at the Wachovia Center. Van Beek scored three goals, had one assist, and scooped 11 loose balls to help the Wings improve to 5-0 on the season, their best since 1993 when the team went 7-0.

"Rob is having a great season this year, but Friday night's game was really an outstanding effort. He was a key contributor in our comeback and we expect him to continue to be an impact player throughout the season," said Wings' Head Coach Dave Huntley.

The Port Coquitlam, BC native is in his fourth season with the Wings. Van Beek has six points (4G, 2A) and has picked up 43 loose balls through the first five games of the 2008 season. He has recorded 56 points (14G, 42A) and 313 loose balls in his four NLL career. Van Beek was selected by the Wings in the first round (Fifth overall) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.
