Minnesota Swarm's Secore Named 2008 All-Star Team Reserve

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - It was announced today that Minnesota Swarm F Andy Secore has been selected as an East Division reserve for the 2008 National Lacrosse League (NLL) All-Star Game, which takes place on Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m. (ct) at Rexall Place in Edmonton.

Secore is in his first season with the Swarm after spending the previous two NLL seasons as a member of the Arizona Sting. A 5-11, 210-pound forward, Secore has notched 41 points (16-25=41) in seven games for Minnesota, which acquired the native of Hamilton, Ontario, in the first round (fifth overall) of the Arizona/Boston Dispersal Draft on November 5, 2007. Earlier this month, he tallied a career-high eight points (4-4=8), including three power-play goals, to help Minnesota edge the Portland LumberJax 14-13 (OT) at Xcel Energy Center (Feb. 10). The 23-year-old (4/28/84) Secore leads the Swarm in assists and has scored at least five points in every match he's played.

On Monday, Swarm G Nick Patterson and D Ryan Cousins were named All-Star Game starters.

Minnesota (6-2 overall, 3-0 at Xcel Energy Center) opens the second half of its season March 8 on the road at HSBC Arena against the Buffalo Bandits.
