
Two Wings Chosen As Reserves For 2008 NLL All-Star Game

The National Lacrosse League announced today that Philadelphia Wings transition player Geoff Snider and defenseman Taylor Wray were chosen as reserves for the 2008 East Division All-Star Team. They will join Wings leading scorer Athan Iannucci, who was chosen on Monday as part of the starting lineup. The 2008 NLL All-Star Game will be played at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, March 16 at 4 p.m. Eastern.
Snider, Wray, and Iannucci will all be in action when the Wings face the New York Titans this Friday at Wachovia Center at 8 p.m.
"It's always a great honor to be recognized by the fans and General Managers from around the league," said Snider, a second-year All-Star. "This year is especially a bonus since them game is being played so close to my hometown (Calgary). I think both teams will put on a great game and really showcase how exciting the sport of lacrosse can be."
Snider has dominated the NLL in face-offs this season, winning 92 of 126 and won Transition Player of the Week on January 30th. The second-year player is tied for fourth in the league in penalty minutes with 51. Snider has 45 points (17G, 28A) in 20 career games. He was drafted by the Wings in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2006 NLL Entry Draft.
This will be Wray's third All-Star Game. The fourth-year defenseman has four points (2G, 2A), eight penalty minutes and 34 loose balls in four games this season. Wray, a former NLL Defenseman and Rookie of the Year, was acquired by the Wings from the Calgary Roughnecks on July 24, 2007.
