Ottawa Lynx News Release
Lynx Player Of The Day: Leadoff man Chris Roberson had four hits, including a double, and scored two of the Lynx runs on the day.
Game 1 Recap: Rochester got off to a fast start with three runs in the top of the second inning off Lynx starter Landon Jacobsen. The Lynx offence pulled within one with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Carlos Leon got things going with a two-out walk, moving to second base on Chris Roberson's single before Joe Thurston cashed him in on a single of his own. Brennan King brought Roberson home with his RBI single and the Lynx cut the Rochester lead to 3-2. The Wings increased their lead with another run in the fourth and four runs in the fifth before Ottawa scored their third run of the game in the bottom of the fifth. Pedro Swann doubled and scored when Joe Thurston reached on an error. Rochester added another run in the top of the seventh to close out the scoring and take Game 1 by a score of 9-3.
Game 2 Recap: The Lynx turned the tables early on the Red Wings, taking a three-run lead with a run in the first and two more in the third. Jason Jaramillo drove in Joe Thurston to start things off in the first inning. In the third, Jaramillo brought home Chris Roberson before coming around to score on Gary Burnham's RBI single. But the Lynx bats were silenced from that point on, while Rochester chipped away at the Lynx lead with single runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings, forcing an eighth and final inning. The Red Wings scored in the top of the frame, sweeping the Monday matinee doubleheader with a 4-3 win.
Next Game: The Lynx hit the road for a four-game series in Richmond. First pitch Tuesday night in Richmond is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
Probable Pitchers: Tuesday @ Richmond: Ottawa LHP J.A. Happ (2-3, 4.91) takes on the Richmond Braves.
