Trailing 4-0, Cameron Blair belted a solo shot to left, his second home run of the season, to narrow the Wingnuts' lead to 4-1.
Wichita added a run in the fourth when James Baker walked to start the inning, advanced to third on a double by Felipe Del Rosario and came into score on a balk.
The Cats battled back with a run in the eighth on a Jake Gautreau RBI single to make it 5-2, but left the bases loaded against reliever Kevin Cheppenko. In the ninth, closer Byron Embry came into the game, allowed a run on a Blair run-scoring double, but retired Brian Fryer and Ed Montague to end the game with the tying run at the plate.
