Windsor Controls Game 1 from Start to Finish

(WINDSOR, ON) The Windsor Express opened the 2015 NBL Playoffs in championship form, as they blasted the Mississauga Power 107-89 in Game 1 of the NBL's Conference Semifinals.

The Express pounced ahead 24-8 in the opening quarter, wrapping it up with a 26-19 lead through twelve minutes.

The lead ballooned to 21 with 2:13 to go in the first half as Windsor's advantage sat at 51-35 through two quarters.

Chris Commons had 15 of his 19 points in the first half, adding six rebounds in the process.

Mississauga made their charge in the third, erasing the Express lead, thanks to three straight three pointers from Jordan Weidner to tie the game at 55-55.

Windsor responded with a 22-10 run of their own, ending three quarters up 77-65.

The fourth quarter was carried by the Express again, pushing their lead to a game high 23 points on their way to taking a 1-0 lead in this best of five series.

Ryan Anderson and Tony Bennett starred in Game 1.

Anderson dropped a game-high 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Bennett added a double-double of his own, recording 10 points and 13 assists.

Windsor looks for a stranglehold on the series on Tuesday, March 10th, when they host Game 2 of their Conference Semifinal series at 7:00pm at the WFCU Centre.
