
Power Lose Game 1 in Windsor

(Windsor, ON -) The Power traveled to the WFCU Centre tonight to take on the Windsor Express in a best of five series in the first round of the 2015 NBLC Playoffs. The Power were able to complete a come back attempt in the third quarter but would not be able to carry the momentum in the 4th quarter, losing 107-89. Omar Strong led the Power with 20 points. Jordan Weidner added 19 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Power were off to a slow start, allowing Windsor to begin the game on a 12-2 run. The Express continued to roll, building up a 24-8 lead before the Power began to respond. The Power were finally able to get some scoring from Tyrone Garland and Omar Strong, as a late 11-3 run by the Power cut the Express lead to 26-19 after the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter the Express kept their foot on the peddle, building up a lead of 21 points late in the quarter. Omar Strong knocked down back to back shots for the Power at the end of the quarter as the Express took a commanding 51-35 lead in halftime.
2014 NBLC #1 overall pick, Jordan Weidner played inspired basketball in the 3rd quarter. The guard converted on four three pointers in under two minutes to help the Power come back and tie the game at 55 apiece. After a timeout by the Express, the home team responded with a 10-0. At the end of three quarters, the Express held a 77-65 lead.
The Power would cut the lead to 8 points early in the 4th but would not come any closer as the Express built up another lead to take the 107-89 win.
The Power will play game 2 in Windsor on Tuesday and will return to the Hershey Centre on Thursday night at 7:30 for game 3.
