Windshield Shades and Paul Rosebush Bobbleheads This Weekend

Bakersfield, Calif.- The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League wrap up the regular season with a pair of games at Centennial Garden this weekend. The Tacoma Sabercats are in town on Friday and the Idaho Steelheads come in on Saturday for the season finale. Both games start at 7:00pm, with the Garden doors opening at 6:00pm.

On Friday night, the first 2,000 adults will receive a Condors Windshield Shade, sponsored by KLLY 95.3 and Mercedes-Benz of Bakersfield. It is also a CBS29 and McDonald's Condors Classroom Champions Night, in which students that have been recognized for outstanding attendance levels receive a complimentary ticket to the game. The Condors are 6-1 this season against the Tacoma Sabercats.

Saturday's game features the much-anticipated Paul Rosebush Bobblehead Doll Giveaway. The first 2,000 children 12 & under will receive a bobblehead, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Wm. K. Lyons Agency Inc. A fan favorite who is playing in his third season in a Condors jersey, Rosebush has set a career high with 22 goals this year, including his first career hat trick in a 5-3 victory over the San Diego Gulls at Centennial Garden last Friday. The Idaho Steelheads have claimed the 2001-02 Founders Cup as Regular Season Champions, and lead the league with 47 wins.

After Saturday night's game, the team will host a Meet the Team Party for all Season Ticket Holders. The party will be held in the lower level, and members should present their Season Ticket ID Card for admission.

The Condors have put together a strong finish to the regular season, compiling an 8-1-1 record over their last 10 contests. They've won four straight games, beating each of the top four teams in the league during that stretch.

Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.

2002 Southern Division Semifinals playoff tickets go on sale Monday, April 8th at 10:00am at the Centennial Garden Box Office. Tickets will only be available for games that are confirmed. If the Condors finish in fourth place in the Southern Division, they play the San Diego Gulls. Tickets for Game 3 on April 18th will go on sale. If Bakersfield finishes in third place they take on the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Tickets for Games 1 and 2 on April 12th and 13th will be available.

Condors droppings: "Condors Corner" with Head Coach Paul Kelly airs every Thursday night from 6-7pm on KGEO AM 1230. This week's show features recorded interviews with members of the Condors, as the team will be traveling... The April website auction features the Flowers for Mom package.
