
John Olver Named WCHL Coach Of The Year

Boise, ID. â For the fourth time in seven seasons John Olver has been honored as the WCHL's Coach of the Year. Olver won or shared the award three consecutive times between 1998-2000. Olver has led the Steelheads to a 47-16-7 record this season, a team record 101 points and the first Founders Cup in franchise history. The Steelheads wrap up the regular season on the road with a Friday night game in Fresno and a Saturday night game in Bakersfield. The Steelheads open the Larry Miller Subaru Mitsubishi Taylor Cup Playoffs on April 12th and 13th at the BofA Centre versus Anchorage. For Tickets call 331-8497 (TIXS).
In his first season in Idaho, Olver led the Steelheads to a 47-21-4 record and a trip to the 2001 Taylor Cup Finals. The squad set franchise best records for wins (47), points (98), home wins (27) and road wins (20). This season the Steelheads set new franchise records with 29 home wins, tying a WCHL record, points with 101 and also tied the second longest streak in league history with an 18-game home win streak.
"It is an honor to be named Coach of the Year," said Olver. "This award really belongs to the players. They are the ones who went out paid the price night in and night out. It is a tribute to their success."

Playoff Tickets
Season ticket holders can pick up their playoff tickets right now at the Diamond Sports office located on the 4th floor of the Grove Hotel. Individual playoff tickets are available at the BofA Centre box office and all Select-A-Seat location.

Remember to wear white to all playoff games at the BofA Centre. Games 1 and 2 of the first round take place at the BofA Centre on April 12th and 13th.
