
Wind Surge Win in Walk-Off Fashion

Wichita Wind Surge News Release
WICHITA, KS - The game was tied at three runs a piece heading into the bottom of the ninth. Michael Helman won the game for the Wind Surge when he hit a soft fly ball to center field that drove in Will Holland from second. The Wind Surge defeated the Missions 4-3 and forced a series split.
The Missions grabbed an early two-run lead in the top of the first inning. Michael De La Cruz hit a line drive to center field for a two RBI double.
The Wind Surge tied the ballgame up in the bottom of the second. Will Holland hit a two RBI double on a fly ball to left field.
San Antonio took the lead back in the top of the third. Marcos Castanon hit a solo home run that just sailed over the left field wall.
Wichita tied things back up in the bottom of the sixth. Aaron Sabato hit a 407-foot solo home run that flew over the left field wall.
The Wind Surge won the game off a walk-off RBI single by Helman in the bottom of the ninth.
Travis Adams made his team leading 22nd start of the season on the mound for the Wichita Wind Surge. He pitched five innings where he allowed three runs off five hits. He struck out five batters and walked three more. Curtis Taylor earned the win, and his record improves to (1-5).
The San Antonio Missions starting pitcher Jared Kollar pitched four innings where he gave up two runs off five hits. He struck out two batters and walked one. Henry Henry was credited with the loss, and his record falls to (1-3).
The first place Wichita Wind Surge improve to (32-25, 60-65) and the San Antonio Missions fall to (28-29, 65-61).
NOTES: Yoyner Fajardo has now reached base in 19 consecutive games. Wille Joe Garry Jr. extended his hit streak to eight games.

UPCOMING: The Wind Surge head south to Corpus Christi for their last six game road series of the season. Game one against the Hooks will be played Tuesday, September 5th and first pitch will be at 6:35 PM.
NEXT HOME GAME: The Wind Surge head back home to Riverfront Stadium on Tuesday, September 12th to play game one of their final home series this season. They will take on the Midland RockHounds and first pitch will be at 7:05 PM.
