Win Streak Snapped in Pitcher's Duel

TOLEDO, Ohio - In a pitcher's duel, the Toledo Mud Hens fell 3-2 to the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night at Fifth Third Field.
The Mud Hens (23-34) got a home run from Dustin Peterson to tie the game in the sixth inning, but the Indians (34-23) plated a run in the seventh to secure the victory.
LHP Tyler Alexander delivered a solid 5.2 innings for the home team allowing two earned runs on six hits and a walk while retiring five on strikes.
Indianapolis struck first plating a run in the second inning as Jake Elmore hit a sacrifice fly to left field deep enough to score Kevin Kramer.
Toledo answered in the fifth inning as Daniel Pinero reached on an error allowing Kody Eaves to score tying the game at one.
The Indians regained a one run lead in the sixth inning as Jung Ho Kang scored off the bat of Pablo Reyes.
In the bottom half of the inning, Peterson evened the score with a solo home run over Mike Hessman Home Run Alley.
Indianapolis was set to take over in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and no outs. RHP John Schreiber got out of a jam with an inning ending double play as Indy only plated one run in the inning.
LHP Jose Fernandez held off the Indians in the last one and one third innings giving the Hens a shot at victory.
Toledo found runners at first and second but fell just short as Indianapolis claimed the 3-2 victory.
