
Win Streak Snapped in Hudson Valley

Wappingers Falls, NY-The Mahoning Valley Scrappers saw their four game winning streak come to an end in the first game of a three series with the Hudson Valley Renegades on Saturday night at Dutchess Stadium. Despite a solo homerun and a 4-4 night from Todd Isaacs, the Scrappers fell 4-2.
In the first inning the Scrappers would load the bases on an Isaacs single and walks by Mitch Longo and Emmanuel Tapia. Jorma Rodriguez would deliver an RBI on an infield single to put the Scrappers up 1-0. However, the Scrappers would leave the bases loaded in the inning.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Renegades would get all the runs they would need. Miles Mastrobuoni singled to start the inning. Jose Rojas followed with a double to put two runners in scoring position. Landon Cay followed with an RBI single to tie the game. With one out, the Renegades would get the lead on an RBI ground out from Bill Pujols. Garrett Whitley would add an RBI single to put Hudson Valley up 3-1.
Hudson Valley would add another run in the bottom of the fourth on a Jake Fraley RBI single.
The Scrappers would add their final run in the top of the fifth inning on Isaacs' solo homerun to lead off the inning. The Renegades bullpen would hold to the Scrappers to just two baserunners over the final five innings.
Aaron Civale (0-2) started and took the loss in 3.2 innings of work. He allowed four earned runs on six hits. Civale walked three and struck out two. Ben Krauth would follow with 3.2 innings of relief. He allowed two hits. Krauth walked two and struck out four. Ryan Colegate would then get the final two outs for the Scrappers. He allowed one hit.
The Scrappers (22-25) and Renegades (27-20) continue their series on Sunday afternoon with first pitch set for 5:05. Tanner Tully will get the start for the Scrappers. The Scrappers will return home on Tuesday night for a six game home stand.
