
Win Pulls Oilers Closer to Playoff Spot

TULSA, OK- With three regular season games to play, the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League now hold down the fourth and final playoff spot in the CHL's Northern Conference following last night's 6-4 win over the Indianapolis Ice. The Oilers (35-21-5, 75 points) now trail the Northwest Division-leading Oklahoma City Blazers by three points (36-19-6, 78 points), and the Memphis RiverKings (36-21-4, 76 points), who now hold down the number three seed, by one point. Indianapolis (39-15-5) leads the Northern Conference and has clinched the Northeast Division title with 85 points.
The Amarillo Gorillas (36-23-2, 74 points) and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (32-20-9, 73 points) are right behind the Oilers as six Northern Conference teams are battling it out for only four playoff spots.
The Oilers will play their remaining games against teams that are in contention for the playoffs, as they host Oklahoma City on Friday night and Amarillo on Saturday night. Both games begin at 7:35 p.m. at the Tulsa Convention Center. They will then finish out the regular season on Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City at 3:35. Both Friday's and Sunday's games will be televised live on Cox Cable Channel 3 in Tulsa as part of the Oklahoma Ford Dealers Turnpike Series.
