(Pearl, MS) August 28th- West Tenn Diamond Jaxx OF Mike Wilson has been named to the 2008 Southern League Postseason All-Star Team. The All-Star team was announced today by the Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs and was voted on by the league's field managers, radio broadcasters and print media.

Wilson has put together a record breaking 2008 season. He is currently hitting .282 with twenty-seven home runs and eighty-three RBI's. His twenty-seven home runs are a new Diamond Jaxx record for most home runs in a season, breaking the old record set by Brandon Sing in the 2005 campaign. Wilson leads the Southern League in home runs, he is tied for fourth in the league with his eighty-three RBI's and is currently third in the Southern League in Slugging Percentage (.563), as well as Extra-Base Hits (55).

It has been a season of vindication of sorts for the twenty-five year old. Last season, Wilson missed more than half of the Southern League campaign with a torn quad. He appeared in just fifty-five games in 2007, hitting .188 with ten homers and twenty-eight RBI's.

Wilson was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 2001 draft out of Washington HS in Tulsa, OK. He turned down a full-ride scholarship to play football for Bob Stoops at the University of Oklahoma.
