
Wilderness Coach Corey Millen Wins 100th NAHL Game

The Minnesota Wilderness' victory on Wednesday night in the the NAHL marked a milestone in Corey Millen's coaching career as he earned his 100th NAHL regular season win in the 3-2 shootout win at Austin.
Millen is in his second year as the head coach of the Minnesota Wilderness out of Cloquet, Minnesota, and spent one other season as the head coach of the Alaska Avalanche (Palmer, AK).
"The whole organization is super excited for him to reach this milestone, and we look forward to him accumulating many more", said General Manager Dave Boitz. He continued, "We feel we have one of the top coaches in all of junior hockey and are very fortunate to have him."
Over his two and half year's as a head coach in the NAHL, Millen has accumulated a record of 100-43-19 and has a win percentage of .676. Millen will be the head coach of Team Midwest in just over a month at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament and has served as an assistant of his division's team the other two years.
Back on May 16, 2013, Millen was named the head coach of the Wilderness, who were accepted into the league earlier that Spring.
A standout college player at the University of Minnesota from 1982-1987, Millen went on to play 14 years of professional hockey in North America and Europe. He also played on the 1984 (Sarajevo, Yugoslavia) and 1988 (Calgary, Canada) U.S. Olympic Team. Millen, a third-round selection of the New York Rangers in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, played for five NHL teams - Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars, and Calgary Flames - scoring 221 points on 95 goals in 382 career games.
