
Eagles Return Home to Face Janesville on "Blood Drive Weekend"

The Eagles return home to the friendly confines of Pullar Stadium this weekend, as they will face the first-place Janesville Jets, for a pair of games on "Blood Drive Weekend", Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 7 p.m. If you can't make it to the games, you can catch all the action, live or on-demand, on fasthockey.com. I will be "Blood Drive Weekend" at Pullar Stadium, sponsored by the Eastern Upper Peninsula Realtors Association. The Blood Drive will take place from 2-6 p.m. Friday, in the ADA Room, inside the Pullar. The first 30 people that give blood, will receive a free ticket to Friday night's game. There will also be a "Student of the Month" on Saturday night, honoring area elementary students.
The Eagles are led in scoring by Sandis Zolmanis, who has 11 goals and 26 assists this season. Trevor Cope has 16 goals and 20 assists, while Keegan Miller is (14-19- 33). The Jets are led in scoring by Zach Lavalle, who has 17 goals and 30 assists this season. Evan Feno has 12 goals and 32 assists, while Brandon Schultz is (18-21- 39). Jack Berry is 11-8-0-1 on the season for the Soo Eagles, with a goals against average of 3.14 and a save percentage of .902. Sean Keating is 10-10-0-0, with a GAA of 3.19 and a SV% of .902. Matt Jurusik is 19-5-0-0 on the season for the Janesville Jets, with a goals against average of 1.96 and a save percentage of .922. Blake Weyrick is 6-1-0-0, with a GAA of 1.78 and a SV% of .927.
The Eagles and Jets have met eight times this season, with Janesville winning the last seven contests. These teams have met four times at Pullar Stadium, with the Jets claiming three victories. The Eagles are in third place in the North Divison, one point behind second place Keystone. The Jets are in command of the North Division, leading the Ice Miners by 21 points. Springfield is five points behind the Eagles, in fourth place. In other North Division action this weekend, Johnstown will be in Springfield for three games, while Keystone is at Michigan for a pair.
