July 13, 2024 - The Minnesota Wilderness will begin the process of building the team's 2024-25 NAHL roster this weekend with its main tryout camp opening Sunday.
The camp runs from Sunday until Thursday at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet.
It kicks off with a 2-day goalie camp. 36 netminders will be evaluated Sunday and Monday morning, with 16 joining about 160 skaters that will hit the ice Monday afternoon. The rest of the camp will be made up of a series of scrimmages involving the 160 players being divided into eight teams.... Full Story
June 21, 2024 - The Minnesota Wilderness has hired Evan Alexius as a new assistant coach.
Alexius is 32 years old and is a native of Folsom, CA. The Wilderness has brought him in to serve as an assistant to Colten St. Clair, who is heading into his 2nd season as the team's head coach.
Alexius is eager to begin his work with the team.
"I'm really excited and feel blessed to represent the Wilderness organization, working alongside and under head coach St. Clair, and ultimately helping our players and team succeed on and off the ice."... Full Story
June 14, 2024 - For the fourth straight year, the Minnesota Wilderness will open its season at home.
The NAHL Thursday released its schedule for the 2024-25 regular season. The Wilderness will play 59 regular season contests, with all 28 of its home games at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet. The opener will be Sept. 13 vs. the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The schedule released Thursday includes all games minus those that will be played at the annual NAHL Showcase tournament in Blaine, MN. The Wilderness will be playing three additional... Full Story
June 13, 2024 - Fourteen players will get a chance to don the green and black of the Minnesota Wilderness after being selected by the Wilderness Wednesday in the 2024 NAHL Draft.
Wilderness draft selections were comprised of 11 forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender
Asanali Sarkenov of Astana, Kazakhstan, was the first to have his name called by the Wilderness. Sarkenov is a 2006 right winger who put up five points in four games for Kazakhstan's U18 squad in the U18 World Championships. The Wilderness picked Sarkenov in the fou... Full Story
