The Aberdeen Wings begin practice this week in preparation for the two-game home series against the Minnesota Wilderness. The Wilderness have a record of 11-2-3 in their first year as an NAHL franchise. The Aberdeen Wings are coming off a 5-4 overtime win against the rival Bismarck Bobcats and are currently 10-4-1 on the season.
The Aberdeen Wings continue to be recognized in the stat columns, mainly near the top. The Wings goaltender #1 Chad Catt (G-Williamstown, MI) is currently the 5th highest rated goalie in the NAHL and the Wings blue-line defensemen collectively are the 2nd highest point producing team behind the Port Huron Fighting Falcons. The Wings D-men currently have compiled 36 points, led by #20 Dillon Eichstadt (D-Bemidji, MN) with 14 assists and #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN) who leads all NAHL D-men with 7 goals. #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland) leads the Wings in point scoring with 15 points (2 goals, 13 assists). Other top points scorers for the Wings include #11 TJ Roo (F-Champlain Park, MN); #15 Jordan Heller (F-Bemidji, MN); #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA).

The Minnesota Wilderness contribute their early franchise success to having two of the top goalies in the NAHL on their roster. #33 Kasimir Kaskisuo (G-Vantaa, Finland) is currently the 2nd highest rated goaltender in the NAHL. He carries a 9-1-2 record and a 95% save percentage as well as a 1.15 goals against average. #15 Jakob Romo (F-Fullerton, CA) leads the Wilderness in points scored with 12. #12 Johno May (F-Mahtomedi, MN) and #16 Billy Exell (F-Thunder Bay, ON) have also chipped in double-digit points.
