Wildcats Release 2009 Schedule

South Georgia Wildcats News Release
ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats are excited to announce the 2009 af2 schedule has been released. The league's tenth season will kick off Saturday, March 21, 2009.
The Wildcats will hit Cooper Tire Field for their first home game Saturday, March 28th against the Florida Firecats.
The schedule features a 4-game set with two South Division rivals, the Florida Firecats and the Tennessee Valley Vipers. In 2008, the Firecats took two of three contests from the Wildcats. The Wildcats defeated the eventual Arena Cup Champion Tennessee Valley Vipers twice, including the final game of the regular season that earned South Georgia their first South Division Championship in franchise history.
"We are excited to once again reward our fans with a very challenging schedule," said General Manager Darren McPhail. "Our fans will welcome a few new teams to the Albany Civic Center this year, but still get fired up for the Division rivalries with Florida and Tennessee Valley."
Three teams will make their first trip to Albany, GA including the Peoria Pirates, Lexington Horsemen, and the Boise Burn. The Wildcats will travel to the Pacific Northwest for the second consecutive year when they take on the Tri-Cities Fever on April 18th. Also, a trip to Moline, Illinois will be the first in franchise history as the Wildcats take on the Quad City Steamwheelers.
