Twisters Release '09 Schedule

(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters will kick off its 10th Anniversary season on March 28th as the arenafootball2 league office released the 2009 schedule on Monday.
"As we enter our 10 year anniversary season, it's good to see a solid lineup of teams on our schedule. We get to renew rivals like Oklahoma City, Bossier-Shreveport and the number one rivalry in all of af2, the Tulsa Talons," explains Twisters President Jack Lankford. "This season will be one for the ages with the slew of events and promotions we have scheduled to celebrate our 10th anniversary."
The 16 game schedule features 11 games against teams that made the ArenaCup Playoffs the previous year; including Defending ArenaCup Champion Tennessee Valley on Saturday April 18th at Alltel Arena.
"I think from a standpoint of the fans, it's going to be extremely good in that we get to kick off the season at home," says Twisters General Manager Dick McDonald. "The teams we play make it a very challenging schedule."
The 2009 season begins on Saturday, March 28th against Bossier-Shreveport with the final home game on July 18th against arch rival Tulsa. All of the Twisters home games will be featured on Saturdays with a start time of 7:05pm at Alltel Arena.
Arkansas is coming off a season where they had a seven game win streak and earned its third straight playoff berth, both are franchise records.
