The Moncton Wildcats continued their winning ways at the Halifax Metro Centre defeating the home town Halifax Mooseheads 5-1 Friday night. The Wildcats have now won all three meetings as the visitor in Halifax this season. The Wildcats received goals from Devon MacAusland, Tyler Howe, Scott Trask, Marek Hrivik and Alex Saulnier in the win. Steve Gleeson stopped 28 shots to record the win. Matthew Bourdreau scored the lone goal for Halifax. Anthony Terenzio was spectacular in the Mooseheads net making some outstanding saves to keep the game respectable. He ended up with 32 saves on the night.

The Mooseheads came out with all the jump in the first period and had the majority of the scoring chances in the first half of the period. Steve Gleeson kept Halifax off the board in this first stopping all 14 shots he faced. Moncton found their legs and managed to generate 9 shots in the period. The teams headed into the 1st intermission scoreless.

The Wildcats were a different team in the 2nd period holding a 15-4 shot edge and scoring three goals. MacAusland opened the scoring when Downe's shot bounced off the boards right to his stick 57 seconds into the period. Howe scored his first of the season at 3:28 to double the Cats lead. Scott Trask completed a nifty two on one with Alex Saulnier at 8:09 to give Moncton a 3-0 lead. Boudreau got the Mooseheads on the board at 16:15.

The Wildcats put the game out of reach late in the 3rd period. Marek Hrivik playing in his first game since returning from the World Junior Championships in Buffalo, NY scored his 19th goal of the season at 14:58. Alex Saulnier completed his two point night by scoring his 18th of the year 36 seconds later to complete the scoring.

The Wildcats are back in action Sunday when the welcome the Rimouski Oceanic to the Coliseum. Note the game time for Sunday's game is 7pm.
