Washington, PA -- The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Chillicothe Paints 9-6 Friday following a rain delay. Despite the soggy weather, a sell out crowd of 3835 fans stayed to see the Wild Thing victory and a fireworks display.
Doug Garcia and Jason Kane each hit three run home runs to spearhead the Wild Things. Garcia went 2 for 4 in the game with 4 RBI. His 3 run homer in the first gave Washington a lead that they never relinquished. Kane's homer in the eighth inning off of Jeremy Durkee sealed the victory
Nick Aiello pitched six innings for the Wild Things to earn the victory. Aiello's record improved to 3-1. Paints starter Mickey O'Quinn only lasted four innings in his first start of the season. O'Quinn's record is now 3-1. Anthony Kozol pitched the final two innings to garner his seventh save.
Garcia, Kane, Zack Cates, and Orlando Cruz each had two hits for the Wild Things. Adrian Gascon Jr. went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and two runs scored for Chillicothe. Aiello, Bake Leonards and Anthony Kozol were able to hold the Paints to six runs despite allowing 15 hits.
