River City Rascals News Release
Brian Weiss and Jeremiah Bergheger each had RBI singles in the 4th inning to snap a 3-3 tie to help the Rascals to a 9-3 win over Gateway at GMC Stadium on Thursday night.
Corey Jager's 3-run double in the 1st inning gave River City an early lead. However, unlike Wednesday's game against Kenosha, River City was able to rebound after Gateway tied the game in the 2nd inning.
Brad Glassco started for the Rascals and was shaky after he pitched just 1 1/3 innings with 3 runs and 5 walks allowed. Dan Krines (3-0) came in to relieve Glassco and pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball for the victory.
Adam Jahnsen (0-1) gave up six runs over 5 1/3 innings in his 1st start and suffered the loss for the Grizzlies.
Jager finished with 2 hits and 3 RBI while Lucas Taylor was 1-3 with 2 RBI and Brian Fuess continued his hot hitting with 2 hits and an RBI.
Friday night's 4th of July game will feature E.J. Laratta for the Rascals against Gateway ace Scott Patterson in a 6:05pm game. Tickets are available for the remaining games in the series by visiting the Grizzlies Website or in person at GMC Stadium.
