Washington Wild Things didn't take long to put the game in the books against the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti Tuesday night at CONSOL Energy Park. Ten runs in the first three innings helped Washington win 15-3.
The Sliders scratched out two runs in the third and fourth innings, but couldn't keep the rallies going to try to mount a comeback.
Nolan Shaffer suffered his first loss with the Sliders, and also allowed his first run scored since being with the team, in the first inning.
Midwest will travel to Kalamazoo Tuesday night, and will begin a three game set with them Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. Sliders will return home Saturday to host the Wild Things starting August 1st at EMU's Oestrike Stadium.
