Wild Things Beat Freedom 4-2

FLORENCE, KY - Thursday evening the Wild Things took the third and final game in their series against the Florence Freedom at UC Health Stadium. Pitcher Kyle Helisek lead the Wild Things to a 4-2 victory, facing 22 batters and allowing only four hits and one run.

The Wild Things started strong when Carter Bell sacrificed a fly to center field allowing Daniel Poma to make it home for the Wild Things' first run of the night. Scott Kalamar kept the momentum going when he hit a homerun bringing in CJ Beatty and Sam Mende giving the Wild Things a 4-0 edge.

The Freedom were unable to answer until the third inning when they got on the board with a run. The Wild Things maintained a three run lead until the eighth when the Freedom attempted a comback with another run, but Washington held on to win the game.

The Wild Things will be back in action on Friday, June 26 when they travel to Rent One Park to battle the Southern Illinois Miners in a weekend series.
