
Wild Skates To Impressive Win Over Johnstown

Johnstown, PA. - Parker Tuomie (Biemerhaven, Germany) and Tanner Barnes (Burnsville, Minnesota) scored twice each Saturday night, leading the Wenatchee Wild to a 5-1 win over the Johnstown Tomahawks in front of 3,267 fans at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.
Wenatchee scored first, as Tuomie scored from Christian Salvato (LaVerne, California and Trey Bradley (Tampa, Florida) at 15:03 of the first period, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead.
Tuomie scored again in the opening moments of the second period, assisted by Barnes and Matthew Nuttle (Marilla, New York) at the 35 second mark, giving the Wild a 2-0 lead. Barnes would score, assisted by Sam Becker (Roseville, Minnesota) and David Powlowski (Rochester, New York) at 4:43 to give Wenatchee a 3-0 advantage that they would carry into the third period.
In the third, Troy Loggins (Huntington Beach, California) scored, assisted by Bradley and Chris Jones (Normandy Park, Washington). The goal, coming at 1:21, put the Wild up 4-0. Johnstown would finally get on the board at 4:44 on an unassisted goal by Dakoda Menslage to slice the Wenatchee lead to 4-1. But then, at 9:40, Barnes would score for the Wild from James Mathias (Ontario, California) and Wenatchee would go on from there for the 5-1 win. "Played well all weekend" said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach Bliss Littler. "Held a good Johnstown team to 35 shots combined on the weekend. Tonight we had good goaltending and a 60 minute team effort." Littler continued, saying "Hard building to win in with 3,200 fans. Proud of our effort."
The Wild outshot the Tomahawks on the night 42-12. Chase Perry (Andover, Minnesota) made 11 saves for Wenatchee, Jake Moore 37 for Johnstown. Wenatchee was 0-for-9 on the power play and 4-of-4 on the penalty kill.
The Wild is now 9-10-2, the Tomahawks are 12-9-1.
Wenatchee next plays at the Michigan Warriors on Friday and Saturday, November 22nd and 23rd with faceoff at 4:00pm PST both days.
