Wild Recalls Almond from Aeros

HOUSTON --- The American Hockey League's (AHL) Houston Aeros, affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild, today announced that Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher has recalled center Cody Almond from the Aeros to Minnesota.

Almond, 21 (7/24/89), was reassigned to Houston on Nov. 7 after skating in two games with Minnesota, averaging 5:22 time on ice (TOI). Almond has posted six points (2-4-6) and is tied for the team lead with 32 penalty minutes (PIM) in 12 games for the Aeros this season.

The 6-foot-2, 217-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, scored one goal in seven games for the Wild last season as a rookie. Almond was originally selected by Minnesota in the fifth round (No. 140 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Almond wears No. 27 with the Wild.
