Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans rallied from a 3-1 deficit and scored five straight goals to cruise to a 6-4 win over the Binghamton Senators tonight at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Rochester scored two goals in each period, including three on the power-play, to earn its fifth straight road victory and improve to 8-6-1-0 overall on the season.

Six different goal-scorers provide tallies for the visiting Amerks and five registered multi-point nights to pace Rochester's offense. Forward Bill Thomas assisted on three goals and Chris Clackson (1+1), Michal Repik (1+1), Clay Wilson (1+1) and Colby Robak (0+2) each notched two points. First-year netminder Jacob Markstrom turned away 24 saves for his sixth win of the season.

Jim O'Brien and Erik Condra each scored a goal and assisted on another as goaltenders Robin Lehner and Barry Brust combined for 23 stops in the losing effort for the B-Sens.

Rochester finished the contest going three-for-four on the power play, while Binghamton only capitalized on one man-up opportunity.

Binghamton jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a strike from O'Brien just 7:52 into the contest with his seventh goal of the season, but Rochester quickly responded minutes later on the power-play as Ryan Del Monte netted his third in four games to even the score at one apiece. Thomas and Robak each recorded assists on the play.

The game would not stay in a deadlock for long, however, as the B-Sens answered back with a pair of markers in a 1:31 span, starting with Bobby Butler's team and league-leading 10th of the season at 13:06. Repik would bring the Amerks back within one before the close of the period, extending his current point streak to eight games while continuing his reign as the American Hockey League's top point-getter. The goal, assisted by Wilson and Thomas, would also kickoff the first of five straight for Rochester heading into the second stanza.

The second period was all Rochester with goals coming from Clackson at 4:38 and another power-play tally from Wilson at 13:57 to give the Amerks their first lead of the game. Rochester extended its lead in the third, adding two more within 39 seconds, as Aaron Bendickson scored his first AHL goal and Kenndal McArdle provided some breathing room to put the Amerks up by three.

Condra converted on the man-advantage midway through the final frame, but it was too little too late for the B-Sens, who saw their two-game winning streak come to an end.

Rochester visits the Manitoba Moose for a two-game set starting on Friday, November 12th at the MTS Centre. The same two teams will meet again on Saturday, November 13th. Both contests are slated for 8:30 p.m. EST starts and can be heard live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk.
