
Wiesblatt to Attend NHL Main Camp

Medicine Hat, AB - Tigers leading scorer from the 2022-2023 season, Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) will miss the opening weekend of the regular season this year.
The Tigers are proud to announce that the 19 year old Calgarian will be suiting up for the Columbus Blue Jackets during their pre season schedule. Wiesblatt earned two points in two games earning himself the invite to Columbus' main camp after completing their Prospect Camp last weekend.
Wiesblatt had 60 points while suiting up in all 68 regular season games with the Tiger last season scoring 26 goals and 34 assists.
Tigers Head Coach & General Manager Willie Desjardins says Wiesblatt's hard work has paid off to get the opportunity at a NHL Main Camp,
"We're excited and proud of Oasiz, he's come a long way since joining us three years ago," he says. "NHL main camps are hard to make and getting the opportunity to prove himself to the Blue Jackets shows a lot about who is he is a player and we can't wait to how well he progresses."
With Wiesblatt in Columbus he won't be in the line-up this weekend against Calgary. When he returns will be determined by the Blue Jackets organization.
The Tigers organization would like to congratulate Oasiz and his family on this incredible achievement and wish him well on his NHL journey.
The Tigers open the 2023-2024 WHL Regular Season Friday night in Calgary at the Scotiabank Saddledome against the Hitmen. Followed by the Co-op Place Home Opener Saturday, September 23 at 7 PM.
