Indianapolis Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indianapolis Ice is proud to announce that long-time season ticket holder and dedicated fan, Jewell Ashley, has been enlisted as the 2003-2004 spokesmodel for numerous Ice advertisements and promotional events.

Ashley has been a season ticket holder since 1997 and is the focal point of this year's "Are You Tough Enough?" campaign. The face of Jewell is being displayed on the team's television commercials, ticket brochures, pocket schedules and can also be seen on White Castle cups and Pepsi delivery trucks.

When asked about having her face all over the city, the modest Ashley stated, "it was a little surprising, but it is fine with me!

The thought behind this year's campaign was to bring the face of the fan into the advertising campaign, instead of using an actor hired by an agency. While Ashley is one of the adorable women in person, her new persona shows off an intimidating glare that consists of a black eye and fierce growl as she asks fans, "Are you tough enough?

"And while she's a really sweet lady, you don't want to mess with her when she's in her regular seat on the glass," said Ice Promotions Manager Autumn Looper. "She's literally our "7th Man" and we count on her to fire up the team. Jewell is definitely tough enough!

The Ice opens a busy week this Wednesday against Oklahoma City for a special 11:30 a.m. face-off with the Blazers and has back-to-back home games this weekend with the Memphis RiverKings. Game time Friday and Saturday night from the Pepsi Coliseum is 7:00 p.m. Individual game tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S. Ayres and the Indiana State Fairground and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices or by calling 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com.
