Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Calgary, Alberta -- The Western Hockey League has finalised its roster of players who will compete in this year's CHL ADT Canada Russia Challenge.

Team WHL added seven players to it's roster this afternoon including goalkeepers Kevin Nastiuk of the Medicine Hat Tigers and Kootenay's Jeff Glass. They join Prince Albert's Rejean Beauchemin as Team Western's netminders.

The other five selected today were Chad Klassen of the Spokane Chiefs, Seattle's Aaron Gagnon, Gilbert Brule of the Vancouver Giants, Moose Jaw Warrior Troy Brouwer and Kris Versteeg of the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Russian Junior Selects will play a total of six games across Canada, beginning later this month, including back to back nights in Red Deer and Lethbridge, Alberta.

The CHL Canada Russia Challenge will be an integral part of the identification process for Canada's National Junior Team final selection camp. Each league's management team worked with Blair Mackasey, Hockey Canada's head scout, to select the roster of players who will represent each regional league.

The WHL all stars will be coached by Red Deer's Brent Sutter, who will also serve as head coach for Canada's National Junior Team this December in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Two members of the Brandon Wheat Kings - center Ryan Stone and right-winger Eric Fehr were chosen to the WHL squad in October. Both attended the National Junior Summer Evaluation Camp in Calgary in August.

Both Fehr and Stone will be presented with commemorative all star jerseys during next Friday's WHL game against the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors at the Keystone Centre.

All six games will be broadcast nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.
