COMSTOCK PARK - Andrew Kown tossed seven shutout innings and allowed just two hits to win his third straight decision in a 2-0 Whitecaps victory over Clinton. It was the fourth shutout of the season for the West Michigan pitching staff.

The Whitecaps have won four in a row for the first time this season.

Kown racked up eight strikeouts.

P. J. Finigan threw a scoreless eighth and Anthony Tomey pitched the ninth to finish off the Lumberkings and earn his sixth save.

Catcher Kevin Richardson went 3-for-4 and had all three Clinton hits.

West Michigan took a 1-0 lead in the second on a double by Andrew Graham. Matt Parrish scored to make it 2-0 in the fourth following a fly to left by Josh Lee.

Parrish tagged up from second on the play and went to third as the relay throw from shortstop Casey Benjamin went past third, off pitcher Kyle Rogers and into the Clinton dugout.

Rogers walked a season-high five batters in five innings and took the loss.

Jeff Frazier went 2-for-4 with a triple for West Michigan.

Extending the Streak: The Whitecaps will look to extend their season-high four game winning with a win on Saturday.
