Geneva, IL- The Kane County Cougars evened the four-game series with the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays after an 11-5 win Friday night in front of 7,576 fans at Elfstrom Stadium. Every Cougars starter reached base at least once, and Eddie Kim led the way offensively by smashing a mammoth two-run home run and driving in three. Ryan Ford got the win on the mound to earn his team-high seventh win. The Cougars trailed 2-1 in the third when Javier Herrera doubled against Devil Rays starter James Houser, advanced to third on a groundout and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-2. Myron Leslie walked and eventually came home on Jose Pineda's single. Kim smashed the two-run shot for a 5-2 game. The left-hander Ford lasted five innings, gave up two runs on six hits, walked three and fanned three. Kane County added to its advantage with a three-run fifth, capped by RBI from Kim, Raul Padron and Nick Blasi.

Padron scampered home from a wild pitch, and Tommy Everidge delivered a two-run single to make it 11-3. Rob Semerano worked the eighth in relief before giving up a pair of runs in the ninth to create the 11-5 final.
