
Dragons to honor servicemen and women as part of HOMETOWN HEROES on night of July 4th

DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Dragons, in partnering with the Dayton Development Coalition, will host HOMETOWN HEROES Celebration night at Fifth Third Field on Monday July 4th, as part of the 7pm game against the Lansing Lugnuts.
For Monday's game, the Dragons and the Dayton Development Coalition have invited some special guests to the field. As part of the season-long celebration of the HOMETOWN HEROES program - the DDC will take time to pay tribute to servicemen of the United States armed forces and the many families who support them.
The festivities will be highlighted by a ceremonial first pitch and special appearances by armed forces members, a pre-game Air Force flyover of Fifth Third Field, Color Guard presentation during the National Anthem, and a post-game fireworks spectacular.
An itinerary of the entire festivities is as follows:
HOMETOWN HEROES activities:
* (Pre-game)
o Airman of the Year to throw Honorary First Pitch
o Air Force flyover of Fifth Third Field
o National Anthem - Wright Patterson Air Force base band vocalist SSgt. Alison Jones
* (End of 1st inning) General Gregory Martin to present on-field speech
- (Bottom 2nd) Jim Leftwich (Vice President - Aerospace, Defense & Technology of Dayton Development Coalition) and Sgt. Jeffery Sanner to be interviewed on Dragons radio broadcast
- (Middle 3rd) Video Presentation for family member serving overseas
- (Middle 4th) On-field presentation of families welcomed home, accompanied by video presentation
- (Middle 5th) "God Bless America" sung by Ssgt. Jones
* (Middle 6th) Flag presentation of flag flown in Iraq to Dragons Manager Alonzo Powell and Steven Johnson, DDC Board Member and President, Sinclair College
* (Post game) Fireworks Display Show over Fifth Third Field
