
Whitecaps FC Waive Defender Michael Boxall

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that the club have waived centre back Michael Boxall.
"We want to thank Michael for the contributions he made to our club over the past season-and-a-half and wish him all the best for the future," said Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie.
Boxall, 23, joined Whitecaps FC after being selected in the first round of the 2011 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft. During his rookie season with Vancouver, the native of Auckland, New Zealand, made 19 league appearances and played in two Canadian Championship matches. This season, Boxall has made three appearances for Whitecaps FC reserves in the MLS Reserve League, while he also started two matches for Whitecaps FC U-23 in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League.
