Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Winnipeg, Manitoba -- Brandon Wheat Kings' prospect Michael Ferland has been chosen the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League Offensive Player of the Month.
Ferland's selection to the all star team last month confirmed that the Brandon AAA Midget Wheat King star is among the league's top forwards. During the month of January, the 6' 190 lb Ferland continued his torrid pace as he scored ten goals and 22 points in 12 games to solidify his spot in the top three scorers in the league.
Listed by the Wheat Kings last year, Ferland is currently fourth in scoring in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.
While Ferland heads to Kenora this weekend for the AAA All Star Game, the Western Hockey League's Wheat Kings play host to Prince Albert and Edmonton on Friday and Saturday nights at Westman Place.
Both the WHL's Wheat Kings and AAA Wheat Kings sit in second place in their respective leagues.
