Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings have dealt blue liner Logen Hammett ('03) to the Vancouver Giants, in exchange for a 2024 4th round Prospects Draft pick.
Hammett, a former 5th round pick of the Wheat Kings in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft suited up in 144 regular season games in the black and gold, scoring 4 times and added 33 assists for 37 points. Hammett is entering his fourth and final season in the WHL as an overager.
"These are always very difficult decisions to make" said Wheat Kings General Manager, Marty Murray. "Logen is a great person and has been a very good Wheat King on and off the ice. But as we all know, we can only have three 20 year olds and that's the reason behind this trade. We want to thank Logen for his contributions and dedication to the BWK and wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
The move leaves the Wheat Kings with four overages on their active roster heading into the 2023-23 season. Forwards Brett Hyland, Zakhar Polshakov, Dawson Pasternak and Defenceman Kayden Sadhra-Kang.
