This week:

The Whale wrap up the regular season, and hope to sew up a playoff spot, with two more road games. Connecticut visits Albany on Friday night for a 7:00 game, and then travels on to Portland for the regular-season finale Saturday night, a 7:00 date with the Pirates.

Friday, April 19 at the Albany Devils (Times Union Center), 7:00 p.m.

* The Devils' (29-31-1-12, 71 pts.) 3-2 loss at home to Rochester Sunday eliminated Albany from playoff contention.

* This game completes a six-game season series between the Whale and Devils. Connecticut is 2-2-0-1 on the year against the Devils, but won both of their previous visits to Albany, 5-2 on October 24 and 2-1 in a shootout November 2.

* Albany leading scorer Joe Whitney (25-25-50 in 63 GP) has nearly twice as many goals as the next-highest goal-scorer on the club, Matt Anderson, who has 13.

* Radio - live with Bob Crawford on "Beethoven Radio" AM 1290, and on-line at www.ctwhale.com. Video streaming at www.ahllive.com.

Saturday, April 20 at the Portland Pirates (Cumberland County Civic Center), 7:00 p.m.

* The Pirates enter the week two points ahead of the Whale in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 38-29-3-2 for 81 points.

* Portland has lost four straight coming into this week, and seven of its last ten.

* This is the last of eight games on the year between the Pirates and the Whale, and Connecticut is 3-0-0-1 in the last four meetings after losing the first three. In three previous visits to Portland, the Whale is 2-1-0-0.

* Winger Troy Bodie, whom the Pirates received from the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday, scored two goals Sunday in his first game a Pirate, a 6-3 home loss to Hershey.

* Radio - live with Bob Crawford on "The Rock" 106.9 WCCC-FM. All Whale Saturday night games this year are beamed on The Rock 106.9 WCCC's 50,000 watts of power. Also available on-line at www.ctwhale.com. Video streaming at www.ahllive.com.
