
Admirals Release Forward Brayden Irwin from PTO

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Admirals have released forward Brayden Irwin from his Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). He will rejoin the ECHL's Florida Everblades.
Irwin, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward, appeared in 20 games with the Admirals this season, posting one goal and four points with 20 penalty minutes and a plus-5 rating. In 66 career AHL games between the Admirals and Toronto Marlies, Irwin has eight goals and 19 points.
The 25-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario, appeared in 38 regular season games with the ECHL's Florida Everblades this season, scoring 14 goals and 29 points. Irwin will re-join the Everblades in the midst of the team's efforts to defend their Kelly Cup title. Florida currently holds a three-games-to-two lead in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series against the Elmira Jackals. In 75 career ECHL games between Florida and the Reading Royals, Irwin has scored 31 goals and 60 points. He also posted six goals and 13 points in 17 games during last year's ECHL playoffs with Florida.
Irwin made his professional debut with the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs following the conclusion of his collegiate career in 2009-10. In two games with the Maple Leafs, Irwin posted two penalty minutes.
Irwin played collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont. In 144 career collegiate games with the Catamounts, Irwin netted 38 goals and 82 points. An undrafted forward, Irwin originally signed a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Mar. 29, 2010.
