
Weston Wilson Goes Yard as Clippers Slip by 'Pigs

Columbus, Ohio - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (21-32) closed the month of May with a 5-2 loss to the Columbus Clippers (21-33) on Friday night at Huntington Park.
Jose Tena led off the Clippers home first inning with a solo homer, his eighth of the season. George Valera followed suit, kicking off the second with a homer, his third of the year, to make it 2-0 Columbus.
After loading the bases to begin the fifth, Jhonkensy Noel drove in a run with an RBI fielder's choice, pushing the Columbus lead to 3-0.
With a man aboard in the seventh, Weston Wilson demolished a two-run homer, his sixth on the year, to trim it to a one-run deficit.
Columbus pulled away however plating a run in the last of the seventh on a Micah Pries RBI double and a Noel RBI single in the eighth, bringing the final to 5-2.
Tanner Burns (2-2) collected the win in relief for the Clippers, working 2.1 perfect innings, striking out four.
Mick Abel (1-5) suffered the loss for the IronPigs, allowing three runs in four-plus innings on five hits and four walks, striking out two.
Peter Strzelecki (S, 5) pitched a scoreless ninth for the save for the Clippers, working around a single by punching out one.
The 'Pigs and Clippers continue their series on Saturday, June 1st at Huntington Park. First pitch is slated for 5:05 p.m. with Tyler Phillips (5-3, 5.31) on the mound for Lehigh Valley against Darren McCaughan (1-0, 3.94) for Columbus.
