Westlund recalled to Hartford

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that goalie Alex Westlund has been recalled by the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Westlund, 31, has appeared in 25 games this season for the Checkers with a record of 16-7-1. The native of Flemington Village, N.J. has recorded three shutouts this season with a goals against average of 2.73 and a 0.914 save percentage. Westlund had a record of 9-3-0 in his last 12 games with the Checkers.

Westlund has played in four games with Hartford earning a record of 1-1-0 with a goals against average of 1.87 and a 0.938 save percentage.

The Checkers are at home tonight, Saturday and Sunday. The first 3,000 fans to tonight's game will receive set two of the Checkers "Limited Edition" Trading Cards presented by LastMinuteGolfer.com.
