St. Lawrence Homes donates 1,000 tickets to Charlotte area schools and charities

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that St. Lawrence Homes has purchased and donated 1,000 tickets for this Saturday's game against the Columbia Inferno at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

St. Lawrence Homes has been a partner with the Checkers since the 2005-06 season and continually offers new programs by which to give back to the community.

As a result of St. Lawrence Homes' generosity, the following schools and organizations will benefit from the tickets that were purchased:

Youth Homes

Down Syndrome Association of Charlotte

Special Olympics of York County

Camp Kool

Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Charlotte

Barium Springs

WFNZ - (Charities)

Junior Achievement

Elevate Magazine - (Charities)

Kids R Kids Austin Village

YMCA Childress Klein (Uptown)

Albemarle Road Elementary School

Urban League of Central Carolinas

"We are really excited that our partnership with the Charlotte Checkers has brought us the opportunity to offer a lot of great schools and organizations the chance to come and enjoy a game," said Bob Ohmann, president of St. Lawrence Homes.

"It was so nice to get a call from one of our partners suggesting such a large ticket donation," said Jeff Longo president of the Checkers. "It really gives us a chance to reach out to several different groups of people without having any financial requirements. From the beginning of our relationship, St. Lawrence Homes has exemplified the meaning of a true partner both on the business side and in the community."

The Checkers are at home tonight, Saturday and Sunday. The first 3,000 fans to tonight's game will receive set two of the Checkers "Limited Edition" Trading Cards presented by LastMinuteGolfer.com. Saturday features Dusty Jamieson bobblehead dolls to the first 2,000 fans presented by Presbyterian Hospital and team dentist Dr. Larry Seitlin. The first 2,000 fans on Sunday will receive Team Posters presented by the North Carolina Zoo, Colonial Properties Trust and K104.7 FM.
