Checkers line up to help stop domestic violence
March 29, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
CHARLOTTE, NC - Bring your old-used cell phones to the Charlotte Checkers hockey game on Saturday, March 31 against the Columbia Inferno. In return, SunCom will give you a FREE ticket to the April 7th Charlotte Checkers game.
The used cell phones will benefit victims of domestic violence. The Women's Commission tries to give the phones to domestic violence victims through the commission's own services or other local domestic violence services.
With a donated phone, a domestic violence victim (or a potential victim) can call 911 in an emergency situation.
