
Werner Park to Host Gold Medalists on Curling Night on August 15

PAPILLION, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers and Omaha Sports Commission will be hosting four Olympic gold medalists as part of Curling Night at Werner Park on Wednesday, August 15, with 2018 Winter Olympic Gold Medalists John Shuster, John Landsteiner, Tyler George and Matt Hamilton are all scheduled to be in attendance that evening.
The four became the first Americans to win Gold Medals for the United States in curling during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang after taking first place at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2017 that were held in Omaha. Shuster also earned a Bronze Medal with Team USA during the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.
All four will take part in a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game on August 15 at Werner Park. Fans will also be able to get autographs and pose for pictures with all four Olympic Gold Medalists.
The Omaha Sports Commission has confirmed that Team Shuster will compete in the Curling World Cup this December 5-9 at Ralston Area. The Curling World Cup is a four-stop series comprised of 24 international teams, with Omaha hosting the second stop. All-session tickets will go on sale beginning September 4. The Storm Chasers begin a four-game homestand against the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Monday evening, with other highlights throughout the week including 50-Cent Tuesday and Harry Potter Night (August 14), Wiener Wednesday with Bark in the Park (August 15) and Thirsty Thursday (August 16).
